Common questions
Straight answers.
What if I need this handled right away?
Then tell us that when you call or text and we will work around your schedule instead of ours. We open early, stay late, and come in any day at all, weekend or holiday, for people who are up against a closing, a funeral, a medical bill, or a deadline somebody else set. If the collection is large or should not be moved, we will come to you. Just say the word and it gets handled.
What are your hours? Do I need an appointment?
Walk-in hours are 10am to 4pm Monday through Saturday, and 12pm to 4pm on Sunday. Outside of that we offer private appointments from 7am to 10am and again from 4pm to 7pm, seven days a week, when scheduled ahead. An appointment is still the better way to do it even during open hours — we work with one party at a time, so booking means you are not waiting and your visit stays private. We block as much time as your visit needs, and if you are bringing a large collection or an estate, tell us ahead so we can set aside extra.
What should I bring?
Your items and a valid government-issued photo ID. Texas law requires us to record identification for precious metals purchases. You do not need to clean, sort, polish, or organize anything first — bring it exactly as it is.
Do I have to know what I have?
No. Most people do not, and that is completely normal. Bring it in and we will identify it, test it, and explain what each piece is before we talk about any numbers.
Is testing going to damage my jewelry?
No. X-ray fluorescence is non-destructive. Nothing is cut, filed, scratched, or dipped in acid. Your pieces come back to you exactly as they arrived, whether you sell or not.
What does it cost to get an evaluation?
Nothing. Evaluation and testing are free, with no obligation to sell. If you do not like the offer, take your items home. There is no fee either way.
How do I get paid, and when?
Same day. Cash for smaller transactions, or a same-day transfer or check for larger ones. You will not be asked to wait on a mailed payment.
Will you buy broken or incomplete jewelry?
Yes, and this is one of the biggest misconceptions we run into. Broken chains, single earrings, bent rings, and settings with the stones missing are all still precious metal and still have real value. Condition matters far less than content.
What if my piece is not stamped or marked?
Not a problem. Unmarked is exactly the case the X-ray analyzer exists for. We can tell you what a piece actually is regardless of whether anyone ever stamped it.
Can you come to me?
Yes, for larger collections, estates, and situations where moving valuables is not practical or safe. Call to arrange it.
Do you sell to the public?
Yes. Everything we buy is offered to the public at wholesale before it goes to the refinery — gold, silver, platinum, palladium, bullion, coins, and jewelry. What we are not is a retail showroom or an online store. There is no catalog on this site because the case changes daily. Call or text and ask what we have, or make an appointment and come look at it.
Should I just mail it to one of those envelope companies?
That is your call, but understand the trade. You are handing your property to somebody who tests and weighs it with nobody watching, then sends you a number you cannot verify. If you turn the offer down, you are asking a stranger to mail your jewelry back. And a padded envelope with gold in it is insured for a few hundred dollars unless you declared the value and paid for it. Here you watch the X-ray and the scale, you hear how the number was built, and you leave with either the money or your jewelry the same day.
Are you registered with the state?
Yes. We are a registered crafted precious metals dealer with the Texas Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner, registration number 2600083100-236666, regulated out of 2601 North Lamar Boulevard in Austin. Our permanent registered location is 18115 County Road 125, Suite C in Pearland. Every purchase is written up on a state transaction report with your identification recorded, exactly as Texas law requires.
Why can I not buy from your website?
Because bullion prices move every few seconds. An anonymous order placed in the morning and reversed in the afternoon leaves the dealer holding the loss, and that cost gets buried in everybody else’s price. We would rather quote you a live number, lock it when you say yes, and keep the pricing honest for everyone.
If I buy from you, how do I get the metal?
It ships sealed and insured out of a secured depository. You can have it delivered straight to your door, or we can take delivery here at the office and hand it to you in person. Same price either way.
Is there a limit to how much you will buy or sell?
No. We source through a wholesale channel that goes back to a United States Mint Authorized Purchaser, so we can price and move seven-figure transactions. Large orders are locked at confirmation and funded by wire.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Se habla español. Toda la atención, la explicación de las pruebas y el papeleo están disponibles en español.
Call us before you sell.
The worst outcome is finding out later that you left money on the table. A phone call costs you nothing, and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth your trip.
